Submission to review of Family and Child Commission Act 2014.
QATSICPP recently made a submission to the Department of Justice and Attorney General’s review of the Family and Child Commission Act 2014. The Act sets out how the Queensland Family and Child Commission will promote the safety, wellbeing and best interest of children and young people.
Our submission calls for a range of changes to the Act, including:
- Legislating for the establishment of an independent Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Commissioner
- Prioritising data sharing between the QFCC and Office of Public Guardian, and
- Reallocating the QFCC’s focus on workforce development to other agencies.
