QATSICPP Online Learning wins Diamond 2022 LearnX Award
In late 2022 QATSICPP was thrilled to have its work in the online learning and development space recognised and rewarded with a Diamond LearnX Live! Award. 2022 LEARNX LIVE! Award winners
QATSICPP, supported by funding from the Qld Government, has developed a Learning Management System (LMS) for the community controlled child and family sector (Sector) in Queensland. Designed with input from practitioners from across the state, our goal was to ensure Sector staff could access training which met their needs, when they needed it and regardless of where they were located. In particular, supporting Members delivering services in remote and regional communities during periods when delivery of face to face training was limited by COVID-19 related measures.
Development and Implementation
The Learning Management System was progressively released from December 2021 featuring 5 bespoke modules on Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Family Led Decision Making (ATSIFLDM). A Practitioner Test Group of Sector representatives provided subject and cultural expertise to ensure content is practically and culturally consistent, as well as relevant for the many Aboriginal &Torres Strait Islander communities where the program is implemented.
Aesthetic and instructional design elements reflect the concept of storylines and songlines. Designed to be short, sharp and succinct, the modules mirror the ATSIFLDM framework so learners move through content in ways which are practical within their own working and learning context.
Importantly, modules are between 20-30 minutes in duration and allow practitioners to learn offline, revisit a specific phase of the ATSIFLDM process, and access additional references and resources.
I like the online course being able to complete in my own time, and log in and out when I can to complete without starting again.
To date over 200 Sector staff have completed the ATSIFLDM modules, with extremely positive post-course survey results showing users felt more confident and capable facilitating the ATSIFLDM process with families. For details, check out our Online Learning Newsblasts.
Podcasts
Our LMS now hosts a complimentary series of podcasts, the first of its kind produced exclusively for our Sector. The experience-rich guestlist showcases thought leaders and leading practitioners in ATSIFLDM work across the state sharing their unique insights and perspectives.
