Practice Standards & Supervision Framework Training
The first two series of the practice standards and supervision training workshops were held in Brisbane and Cairns. A total of 24 staff members from 5 member organisations participated. Overall the feedback from these workshops were positive and encouraging.

Family Lead Decision Making Workshop
QATSICPP Senior Practice Leader and Training and Education Coordinator were invited by Aboriginal & Islander Development Recreational Women’s Association (AIDRWA), Family Participation Program staff (pictured below) to be part of a 2 day workshop focusing on, exploring and unpacking Family Lead Decision Making (FLDM).
The workshop focused on changes to legislation, what does this mean on the ground, roles, responsibilities, program, purpose, principles, processes, Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander child placement principles, case study/ scenario, supervision and self-care. The 2 days was interactive, allowing plenty of time and space for discussions.
At the end of the 2 days, staff reported gaining a better understanding of FLDM process and framework child protection legislation changes, and would like more clarity around child safety’s involvement and engagement with services, especially around endorsed family plans.
