The Queensland’s Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Community Controlled Child Protection Definition and Standards outlined in this document honour the commitment and passion of Elders, past, present and emerging, to ensure our children are safe in culture. The redefining of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Community Control has been guided by community input and knowledge and endorsed by the Queensland Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Community Controlled Child Protection sector. The definition and standards have been built on the Queensland Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Child Protection Peak (QATSICPP) Practice Standards by engaging the child, family and community, identifying the storyline, changing the storyline, and establishing a new storyline.
