Why become a QATSICPP Member?

We welcome all new members that share our vision and contribute to a consistent approach to child protection matters. Joining QATSICPP strengthens our collective voice and helps to ensure that better outcomes are achieved for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children, young people and families. As a member, you will be part of a passionate and motivated collective. Your organisation’s membership also provides you with access to:

  • Opportunities to participate in meetings and other consultation processes about topical policy, legislation, program and/or practice issues.
  • Information, research, submissions and reports commissioned and/or distributed by QATSICPP.
  • Discounted (or free) attendance to QATSICPP training, symposiums, workshops and other events.
  • Discounted (or free) services, resources and products (such as podcasts, videos, webinars) provided by QATSICPP.
  • Free advertising and promotion of job vacancies, events and news via our website, QATSICPP Newsletters, and social media.
  • Voting rights at Members’ meetings and the Annual General Meeting as well as the opportunity to stand for election to the Board (subject to certain conditions).
  • Opportunity to play your part in collectively supporting the important work of QATSICPP.

How to become a QATSICPP Member

Membership of QATSICPP is open to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community controlled organisations delivering child protection services, statutory services, alternative care, family support, child and family wellbeing programs, residential care, kinship and foster care, and related services to its community.

For QATSICPP membership, the applicant must:

  • Be a local Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander community-controlled organisation, as defined by the QATSICPP’s Constitution, which is governed by an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander  board of management elected by the local Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander community.
  • Be an incorporated body operating an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander Community-Controlled Child Protection Service.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to abide by the QATSICPP’s Constitution, and any Charter of Membership and/or Charter of Corporate Governance and/or Directors’ Code of Conduct approved by the Board.

Membership fees are $200 per annum, which are due each financial year.

  • Certification of Incorporation (PDF only)

  • List of current board members and their positions (e.g. Chair, Secretary etc.) (PDF only)

  • Copy of the organisations current constitution or constituent document of the applicant (where applicable) (PDF only)

  • Provide a signed letter from your organisation to abide by the QATSICPP Constitution (PDF only)

  • Sign and date the last page of the "QATSICPP Membership Charter" (PDF only)
